The Purpose of the Magna Carta

          The Magna Carta was made to prevent the king from getting too powerful. It started in 1215 by King John. It was to give limits to the king so that kings don't become tyrants. Before that kings could do anything they wanted. Kings could easily become tyrants and nobody really wants to be ruled by a tyrant.
